Tariffs and US shipping

It looks as though the 25% tariffs are delayed again until early April.

Originally, the US tariffs were going to be assessed on all packages crossing the border, but just before the tariffs were to be put into place in early March, the deminimus allowance for goods under $800 was reinstated.  As long as that in in effect, the tariffs won’t affect normal yarn shipments crossing into the US.

As with many small Canadian businesses, I am very worried by the possible changes in US policy. I am, as many of you know, a small, one-woman operation and about 50% of my online business comes directly from my lovely US knitters and crocheters.

I will try to keep you updated as news progresses.

Thanks for your patience, understanding and loyalty. I appreciate you all.
